We got our start in this business in a rather unusual way. I am an experienced refrigerator repairman and started working as a sub-contractor for an appliance repair company in San Diego. The owner of that company preferred plain colored work shirts for his repair people and I did not have any when I started to do work for him. I found the Big Bill 133 chambray work shirts for sale via the internet and ordered a few of them. After a couple of months I realized that one shirt was missing. My wife wasn't sure what happened to it but we couldn't find it anywhere. I went online again only to discover that the company from whom I had bought the shirts was no longer in business and that no other dealer had a comprehensive web site selling the Big Bill^® work clothes. Since I had previous experience designing and operating a web based specialty clothing store I made arrangements to start this business which provides us with a small supplement to our Social Security income. Later on I found the missing shirt in an old washer sitting next to our home. I had intended to fix it up some day but before I got to it my wife had 'temporarily' put in a few clothes until the load that was in our working washer was done. She then promptly forgot that she had done so. By the time I found it this business was up and running and the rest is, as they say, history.
